Eugene Chiu is a Senior Partner on the investment team at IQT, which makes investments supporting the intelligence and national security communities of the U.S. and its allies. He has been the investment team lead for IQT’s investments in quantum computing as well as IQT’s B.Next practice, focused on the intersection of national security and the bio-revolution. Since joining IQT in 2013, he has led multiple IQT investments in quantum computing, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence. Prior to IQT, Chiu co-founded and led business development, marketing, and commercial operations at multiple venture-backed companies. He started his career at McKinsey & Company. Chiu earned his undergraduate degree in biochemical sciences from Harvard College, master’s in health sciences and technology from MIT, and MBA from Harvard Business School.
A quantum physicist by training, Martin Laforest spent his career ensuring quantum technologies have a disruptive, yet positive impact on industry and society. Martin is currently managing partner for Quantacet, an early stage, quantum-focused investment fund and the director of Quantum Strategy for ACET, a Sherbrooke-based deep tech incubator offering specific mentoring tailored to quantum enterprises. Martin serves as an advisor to Canada’s National Quantum Strategy, as a board member for Quantum Industry Canada and as a technical advisor for Kirq, a quantum communication testbed in the province of Québec. Prior to joining Sherbrooke’s quantum ecosystem, Martin was the senior product manager for ISARA Corporation, a quantum-safe security company. Martin also spent eight years promoting the impacts of quantum technologies to students, governments, companies and investors for the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo.
Matt Cimaglia is the Founder and Managing Partner of Quantum Coast Capital, a firm specializing in quantum computing investments. With a deep understanding of the transformative potential of quantum technology, Matt views this emerging field as the next industrial revolution.
