Building the Future: The Chips Acts and Beyond

The development of quantum sciences and technologies and delivery of quantum-based solutions is highly dependent on a broader collaboration across borders on fundamental technologies. Join us for an immersive workshop at the Quantum World Congress that will showcase updates from key national initiatives that aim to revitalize manufacturing, strengthen global supply chains, and accelerate the industries of the future. Key programs updates will include updates on the £1 billion investment strategy for UK's semiconductor sector, the $53 billion US CHIPS and Science Act, the €43 billion of policy-driven investment in the European Chips Act, and the ¥1.8 trillion investment by Japan to boost chip projects. These updates will be supported by industry and academia perspectives, and roundtable breakouts for discussions. The session with feature talks by global leaders from USA, UK, EU and Japan, perspectives from key industry cooperations including IBM, NVIDIA, Intel and DIRAQ, followed by breakouts with the attendees.

International collaboration between like-minded countries and cross-sector partners is critical to establish national and global supply chain security. This workshop aims to facilitate a cross-sector and cross-country dialog that can further our collective missions.

The goal of this workshop is to deepen international collaboration across national investment efforts and engage industry, suppliers, manufacturers, and operators, by:

  • Highlighting key current national and global visions, showcasing ways to engage with this vision, and enhancing the cross-border dialog

  • Highlighting perspectives of industry, academia, labs and manufacturers and exploring opportunities for engagement

  • Creating a forum for exchange of ideas, experiences, and contacts among the participants
