Advancing Strategic Global Partnerships

Quantum technologies are expected to grow significantly in the next five years, with quantum computing alone estimated to be more than a $1 trillion market over the next three decades. National quantum programs have differing objectives, funding, and focus, creating barriers to collaboration on everything from research and innovation to commercialization. In addition, with the transformative and potentially disruptive nature of quantum technologies, the need to explore, adapt, and coordinate policy, ethics, and standards in a collaborative cross-sector and cross-border manner is a matter of urgency.

Over the past 2-years, discussions at the 2022 and 2023 International Forums, the 2024 Mid-Year Summit, many smaller cross-sector engagements, and the launch of the Quantum Accord in 2023 with key international partner nations, a consensus has emerged on the need for a formal, enduring International Quantum Forum. This enduring Forum, serves as a public-private collaborative venue to (1) accelerate global partnerships and cross-sector, cross-disciplinary collaboration to harness the potential of quantum technologies, and (2) anticipate and mitigate potential risks, and (3) break through barriers that undermine development, commercialization, and adoption.
