Sept 9-11: Quantum World Congress 2024
Tysons, Virginia — The third annual Quantum World Congress will take place from Monday, September 9th to Wednesday, September 11th, 2024, at Capital One Hall in Greater Washington. Quantum World Congress (QWC) is a premier global conference, exposition, and networking event that unites quantum technology visionaries, policymakers, researchers, business and investment leaders, educators, and students from around the world to explore the latest advancements in quantum solutions, research, workforce development, policy, and investment.
This year’s theme, “Convergence,” focuses on exploring the value at the intersection of quantum technologies and adjacent fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, photonics, optics, and cryogenics. QWC 2024 will showcase cutting-edge advancements, address critical challenges, and explore opportunities for commercialization and global cooperation. Through a diverse array of major industry and government announcements, presentations, panels, fireside chats, and networking sessions, QWC aims to catalyze innovation and foster global partnerships that will shape the quantum landscape for years to come.

Major Industry Announcements: The event will feature significant announcements from leading companies, including Boeing, IBM, Microsoft, IonQ, PsiQuantum, Quantinuum, and Google, showcasing the latest developments and strategic advancements in the quantum technology landscape.
Main Hall & Plenary Sessions: Visionary presentations on the latest quantum technologies, business implications, policy developments, and global quantum updates. We’ll hear from Dr. Sethuraman Panchanathan (Director of the U.S. National Science Foundation), Dr. Cathy Foley (Chief Scientist, Australia), Dr. Rick Muller (Director of the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity), and more.
Breakout Tracks: Five specialized tracks—Global Cooperation, Government & Security, Industry Advancement, Ecosystem Showcases & The Launchpad, and Market Accelerations—will offer workshops, panel discussions, and industry announcements from both public and private sectors.

2024 Quantum World Congress International Forum presented by Quantinuum: In this moderated cross-sector workshop, delegates will share information and explore ways to advance global collaboration for quantum and quantum-adjacent technologies. Delegates include leaders across industry, academia, and research organizations as well from government covering national quantum science, technology, and innovation government agencies; science, economic development, policy, and innovation attaches from embassies and quasi-governmental agencies.
Third Annual Quantum Startup Pitch Competition: This year, seven finalists will pitch and compete for the $25,000 grand prize at Quantum World Congress 2024. They are Anyon Systems, Euclid Inc., Icarus Quantum, Q99, Qruise, SBQuantum, and Veriquantix.
Building the Future: The Chips Act and Beyond: This session will spotlight national strategies to scale manufacturing, fortify global supply chains, and accelerate critical quantum and quantum-adjacent sectors. Featuring talks by leaders from the USA, UK, EU, and Japan, and insights from IBM, NVIDIA, Intel, and DIRAQ, attendees will engage in focused breakouts. Tailored for industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers, the discussions will explore the transformative potential of initiatives like the US CHIPS and Science Act and the EU Chips Act, strategies for optimizing supply chains, and the importance of cross-border partnerships.
Quantum Leap Career Nexus at the University of Maryland: On September 12th, 2024, the University of Maryland Quantum Institutes will host the Quantum Leap Career Nexus (QLCN), a premier global networking, recruitment, and mentorship workshop dedicated to careers in the quantum industry. This event will unite leading quantum organizations with undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and early career professionals. Quantum World Congress is proud to partner with the University of Maryland for this satellite event and enthusiastically encourages all QWC delegates to attend.
Quantum Leadership Awards: QWC will honor outstanding contributions to the quantum industry with the Quantum Leadership Awards, recognizing individuals and organizations that have made significant advancements in quantum science, technology, and industry.
Women Pioneers in Quantum (Lunch): On September 11, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, attendees are invited to the "Women Pioneers in Quantum" lunch event.
