Accelerating Strategic Global Partnerships
Quantum technologies are expected to grow significantly in the next five years, with quantum computing alone estimated to be more than a $1 trillion market over the next three decades. National quantum programs have differing objectives, funding, and focus, creating barriers to collaboration on everything from research and innovation to commercialization. In addition, with the transformative and potentially disruptive nature of quantum technologies, the need to explore, adapt, and coordinate policy, ethics, and standards in a collaborative cross-sector and cross-border manner is a matter of urgency.
Over the past 18 months, discussions at two prior International Forums at the Quantum World Congress in 2022 and 2023, many smaller cross-sector engagements, and the signing of the Quantum Accord with key international partner nations, a consensus has emerged on the need for a formal, enduring International Quantum Forum. This enduring Forum, or Coalition, would serve as a public-private collaborative venue to accelerate global partnerships and cross-sector, cross-disciplinary collaboration to harness the potential of quantum technologies and anticipate and mitigate potential risks, and break through barriers that undermine development, commercialization, and adoption.
THE DETAILS
-
The purpose of the annual International Forum at the Quantum World Congress is to bring together delegates to share information and explore ways to advance global collaboration for quantum and quantum-adjacent technologies. The International Forum: Mid-Year Summit aims to build on those advancements, bringing together a core subset of delegates representing leaders from academia, industry, government, research, and investment from the US and global partner countries.
-
The objective of the Mid-Year Summit is to move towards a common understanding and consensus on the value and path forward to a formal, structured, cross-sector, and cross-border collaboration on quantum. Additionally, topics at the Summit will help inform discussions at the third International Forum at the Quantum World Congress 2024 (September 9-11).
-
Attendees include cross-sector delegates representing academia, industry, government, research and investment from the US and global partner countries. Register now for the Mid-Year Summit.
