Jan Suhren, Policy Officer at the Quantum Technology Division of the Germany Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), provided an update on the state of quantum development in Germany as part of the "National Quantum Updates" during the Global Collaboration track at Quantum World Congress 2024.

Jan Suhren is the lead for bi- and multilateral international cooperation, BMBF program development and industry stakeholder outreach. The Quantum Technology Division of BMBF heads the German Federal Quantum Technologies Program. This program will invest over 2.2 billion Euros into quantum technologies until 2026. Jan joined BMBF in 2018. Prior to this, he worked in industry as a consultant. Jan hold a PhD in molecular biotechnology.
