WORKSHOP: Quantum And Space

This immersive workshop will explore use cases, applications and technologies at the intersection of Quantum & Space, including using of quantum science and technologies for the advancement of space exploration and our understanding of the cosmos, using the environment of space to advance quantum science and technology discovery and applications, and enabling development of new and improved capabilities that can service new opportunities for commercialization of space.

This immersive workshop will explore use cases, applications and technologies at the intersection of Quantum & Space, including (1) use of quantum science and technologies for the advancement of space exploration and our understanding of the cosmos, (2) using the environment of space to advance quantum science and technology discovery and applications, and (3) enable development of new and improved capabilities that can service new opportunities for commercialization of space.

WORKSHOP GOALS

The goals of this workshop are to foster collaboration around quantum and space, by:

  • Highlighting the opportunities and challenges at the intersection of quantum science and space in the domains of space for space, earth for space, and space for earth

  • Presenting some of the ongoing projects and initiatives, involving different stakeholders and regions.

  • Identifying the gaps and needs for further collaboration and coordination.

  • Expanding the platform for exchange of ideas, experiences, and contacts among the participants.

  • Creating a platform for exchange of ideas, experiences, and contacts among the participants

Workshop Format

The workshop will consist of four parts:

  • Opening discussion:  An Overview of Opportunities at the intersection of Quantum and Space

  • A series of technical talks on quantum technologies for Space applications

  • Two parallel breakout sessions, where the participants will discuss the specific challenges and opportunities, and identify the potential areas and partners for collaboration

  • Conclusion, where the workshop chair will wrap up the workshop and propose some follow-up actions and next steps.
