Sergio Boixo leads the Quantum Computer Science group at Google Quantum AI. The mission of Google Quantum AI is to build best-in-class quantum computing for otherwise impossible problems. The Quantum Computer Science group builds quantum and classical computer science and engineering to materialize useful quantum computing. Sergio has a doctorate in physics from UNM in the USA, and university degrees from UAB, UCM and UNED in Spain.

Sergio was a research professor at USC, and a postdoc at Harvard and Caltech. Previously Sergio worked as a computer engineer.
